3-YEARS FIRST CYCLE
DEGREE IN INDUSTRIAL DESIGN

DEPARTMENT OF
ARCHITECTURE-DIDA
UNIVERSITY OF FLORENCE

COURSE
CONTENT

In a well-established succession in interior design that sees the second year dedicated to private space, the theme linking the topics addressed in the third year is public space in its multiple expressions. The objective of the course is to investigate the different application areas that compete with public space and provide students with the cultural and technical tools that underlie the design process. Thus, an attempt will be made to analyze the functional, material, technical and dimensional aspects of furniture elements, to understand the system of spaces, and investigate the influences between the two sets. The relationship between space and furniture elements is analyzed in this workshop with application to the themes of retail design, exhibition design and urban design.

LEARNING
OBJECTIVES

The objective of the course in Interiors is to present public space in all its expressions and in all its fields of application, while providing, also through case histories the theoretical knowledge necessary for the design process.
The course of lectures will follow an ideal line that connects objects to the city (in the old days it was said from the spoon to the city) by first addressing exhibition and exhibition themes and then concluding with the design of outdoor spaces.
